Driver Points Procedure (4/30/21)

In an effort to attract more participations and level the playing field for all members, the new points system will focus on participation and race completion in addition to finishing position (thus giving all participants an improved chance of winning a championship, and likewise encouraging competitive drivers/cars to attend and complete each race). Points will be awarded as follows:

A).     member will receive one (1) point for paid entry.

 

B)     For each Saturday /Sunday Qualifying race and Flag Race a member will receive one (1) point for starting           a race and one (1) point for finishing a race(starting means taking the green flag and finishing means                 taking the checkered flag).

 

C)     In the Flag races Saturday/Sunday, a member finishing 1st,2nd,3rd place within their class will receive”               podium” points:3 points for first place,2 points for second place and one point for third place.

The total number of possible points for a weekend including the 1 point for paid entry is 15

Determining Class Champion and Overall Club Champion: In the event of a tie at the end of the year, the following criteria will apply, in this order:1: number of events entered,2the number of races finished,3the number of podium points awarded for Saturday/Sunday Flag races. The same criteria will apply in determining the Overall Champion.

Note to qualify for class champion and/or overall champion, a minimum of four (4) events is required. For a driver to qualify for overall champion, there must have been a minimum of four(4)other racers in that drivers class over the course of the calendar year.
