It is with great pleasure the Vintage Auto Racing Association invites you to attend our premier event The British Extravaganza. We are thrilled to be celebrating our 30th Annual British Extravaganza along with Buttonwillow Raceway Park. As always this event will feature the British Concours of Cars. In addition to VARA’s normal run groups (normal points awarded) we will have the following:

FEATURE RACES

“The Union Jack Challenge” MG, Mini, Sprite, and Triumph Challenge Race Other small bore British Cars will be invited in the specialty races

British Concours of Cars
BRITISH Marques from all over the United States are invited for popular vote awards. The car show participants will enjoy track drives at Lunch on Saturday


BBQ SATURDAY NIGHT
You don’t want to miss the now famous Saturday Night BBQ! Each race entry will receive two BBQ tickets. We will be collecting tickets. This is always a fun, entertaining evening with Music, dancing, Karaoke, etc. Additional tickets may be purchased for $20.00 each.

RACE ENTRY INFORMATION

The entry fee for the two days of racing is $575 Early Bird Discount . The enclosed application should be fully completed and returned to VARA as soon as possible.

 

Entries received after May 7th will be pay a $625. Buttonwillow Raceway Park requires each person entering the gate to pay $10.00 admission, good for the entire weekend.

Friday is an open test day. Call the track for further information (661) 764-5333

VARA requires each participant to have a physical exam every two years. If you do not have a current medical please contact the VARA office and a form will be sent to you. Medical cards from other approved racing organizations are acceptable. All race cars must have a logbook and meet VARA eligibility requirements.

NEW AND UNLICENSED DRIVERS

Unlicensed drivers and drivers running for the first time with VARA, experienced or not, must include an additional $50.00 fee for Ground School. The Ground School will be held at the track on Friday, May 16th at 5:00 PM in the tower classroom.

RACE HEADQUARTERS AND LODGING

National 9 is (661) 764-5117 ,Motel 6 Central (661) 764-5121 (please note there are 2 Motel 6’s) Book your rooms early these motels will fill up. Be sure to mention VARA when you make your reservations.
Camping is allowed at the track and limited RV spaces are available with hookups. Please call Buttonwillow Raceway Park to reserve an RV Space at (661) 764-5333

TIMING AND SCORING

If you would like to be included in the timing & scoring during the race weekend, you must use a transponder. If you do not own one, you may rent one for $40 for the weekend (please see entry form). If you are interested in purchasing a transponder, please call AMB directly at 1-678-816- 4000.
